Un-Bao-Lievable (Pork) Buns



  • 1 packet Slo Moe’s Slo Wood Smoked BBQ Pork

  • 6 frozen bao buns (located in all good Asian grocers)

  • ½ cup hoisin sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1 tbs chilli flakes

  • ¼ tbs ginger paste

  • ½ lime, juiced

  • Coriander, to garnish

  • Dried shallots, to garnish

  • Hot sauce, to serve


  • ½ lime, juiced

  • ½ lemon, juiced

  • 1 tbs rice wine vinegar

  • ½ tsp brown sugar

  • 1 cup pre-mix coleslaw




1. To make the sauce that will dress your buns, in a small bowl, combine the hoisin, ginger paste, chilli flakes, garlic and lime juice. Set to one side.

2. To make the slaw, dress the coleslaw mix with lemon and lime juice, brown sugar and rice wine vinegar. Toss to combine.

3. Heat Slo Moe’s Pork according to packet instructions.

4. Heat the bao buns according to packed instructions.

5. To assemble the bao buns, first fill them with Slo Moe’s Pork. Then add the slaw and drizzle with the sauce. Garnish with coriander and dried shallots. Add a squirt of hot sauce if you like an extra kick. How easy and delicious is that?!
